06-20-15 J&L wedding at Dellwood Barn

Read about this event

Dellwood barn is one of the newest barn venues to open up in the Minneapolis Metro area and it has what most people are looking for: a red barn, a nice spot for the ceremony and just a tiny bit of a farm feel. As you’d expect from a wedding on the longest day of the year in MN, there was plenty of sun to go around. Most people did their best to hide in the shade and enjoy refreshments.

The ceremony location is up at the top of a small hill which gives you a great view of the nearby countryside and corn fields. It made for some fun photos watching the guest and bridal party stream up the driveway to the top of the hill, and fortunately there was a golf cart to shuttle people unable to walk. As the afternoon wore on the options for photo spots greatly increased. There is a little pond, a bunch of white picket fences, some nice outbuildings and few small trees that give ample options for photos with the bride and groom.

The interior of the barn is hung with lights which give it a romantic rustic feel and it even has a little balcony where you can stick more guests, or your photographer can use for some fun photos of the reception. The bathrooms are large, fully modern and indoors which is a nice feature for this type of venue. There are a handful of other barn venues in the Minneapolis Metro, but not many other places that have the the same rustic feel combined with nice amenities.
